Happikiddo

Sponsored post

You guys know how much I love shopping right?
Nothing makes me happier than being in a store that sells toys or educational material
Throw in some baby goods and maternity stuff and I am all ...
Honey, I want another baby!!
Hehe..

So, when Happikiddo asked us to do a review,
I was like Yes, sure, no problem, when, where...all in one breathe.

I am not kidding when I say they have everything for kids under one roof.
Happikiddo houses over 50 international brands with more than 10,000 products.
I went bonkers in the HUGE outlet at Citta Mall, Ara Damansara.
What an apt name too....it's such a happy place.
They should rename it Happimama because I was more excited than the kids!

The store's interior is very warm and welcoming
Their helpful and friendly staff were ever ready to answer my queries.
Come, take a look and you will see why we are so enamored.

Upon entering the store, you are greeted by the gorgeous counter laden with gifts.
To the left are racks and racks of feeding essentials.
They carry a large selection of bottles, feeding utensils, lunch bags, etc

At the far left corner are the bath and body care products.
Besides the common Malaysian brands like Pureen, they also have
California Baby, Mustela and Putto. No need to pay for shipping anymore...woohoo!
Oh, if you are a fan of Tanamera, guess what? They have those too!

In the clothing aisle, my Mini-shopaholic couldn't make up her mind.
So many choices, so little time!

 "I want to buy everything!"
Sigh, I totally get you, baby.
I look like that too when papa say cannot buy everything.
You are truly my daughter.

Happikiddo carries chic maternity and nursing tops and my girl found these two fascinating.
How often do you see breastfeeding mannequins?
 "Come, I help you nen-nen"

While my girl was being all motherly and sweet, my boys were busy....being boys .
Trying out the sporting gear.
Luckily the store is spacious enough to accommodate these two.
Behind these are the strollers and rockers.

My favorite part of the store is....TADAAA!!!!!
I died and went to high quality toy heaven....

Tiger was very impressed with the selection of JANOD and B. toys.
Too bad for him his papa tagged along...he was allowed to select ONE toy.
It's so tough because there were SO MANY to choose from.

He was glad they were selling kinetic sand.
He said, "Everybody should play with sand. It's really fun."
^.^
It's priced at rm259.90 for 5kg

In the end, Tiger was like,
"I don't know what to buy. You buy this room for me laaaa"
Yeah...right...

They even prepared a little play area with a play kitchen and refrigerator set up.
That occupied Dragon girl for 30 minutes while we were looking around.

Next to the play area, is this gorgeous setup.
I thought they were ceramics because they were so beautiful.

The tableware is from RICE Denmark.
They are homaigod pretty, it's almost a crime to do anything more than stare.
They are made from food-safe melamine, so no worries.
 Some words from RICE website:
  • Melamine is not suitable for the microwave
  • Melamine can break if exposed to hard shock.
  • Please check for cracks and discard the product if any is found.
  • Over time, melamine products can age and obtain a matte finish.
  • Products with a very matte finish should be discarded.

Dragon girl's fascination with our goody bag beauties.
Montessori promotes the use of ceramics and glass, even in toddlers.
Looking at her, I can see why now. They truly appreciate beautiful things.
Having said that, I think I will just stick to melamine for now.

You're sure I am allowed to play with this?
Will break or not?
You sure this is not ceramics?
I am going to play now...like right now...okay?

Since Tiger couldn't make up his mind, I helped him by purchasing this
It is way cheaper than Lazada and much better than our hand bells.

Winter Wonderland Sensory Bin

Easiest bin ever..
I know I say that ALL the time, but this time, really one :p
Contents:
Base: Cotton balls, unifix cubes, and other white knick knacks to make 'snow'. There were fake snow in the shop that I had considered buying but the thought of cleaning them out of Dragon girl's mouth...yuck!
Mini Christmas Trees that we bling-blinged
Castle: Bought this eons ago and I thought, 'wasted investment' but hihi, nope...he loves it.

While writing the above, I've come to realize 2 things
1. I have been very lazy. Only 4 posts for December :p
2. Investment is defined according to personal preference.
For example, to hubs, it meant accumulation of wealth in properties and such with calculated risk. *insert droopy eyes and a big yawn*
To my sister and I: Investment in toys cash out when they suddenly discover an interest in a preciously scorned toy *pats self*. That's because our wealth is defined by our children's happiness.

Happiness vs Money. I don't look so shallow now, huh?
Fine...this shopping thing still needs work but hey, everyone has issues.

" If I see a psychotherapist, he or she will probably point out that it was because my mom used to hide all these new and shiny toys in the cupboard and we had to curi-curi take them out for play. It was in a cupboard above the bed. Ya, I know, some stupid 80's design la. We had to use pillows just to reach the toys, okay? A lot of work and determination went into each attempt but we never gave up.

My favs were the Atari, which we plugged into the TV ourselves (no one was electrocuted) and the Barbie ice cream shop. At this point I called Winnie to see if she remembers anything else we 'stole'? She said, "I stole my white bear (she still carries that thing around, prob infested by now...eeeee. Traitor doesn't read my blog, so it's okay to kutuk her here). She also recalled that there was a dolphin soap that we loved to smell (sound like weirdos but it was really, really nice) and the KFC coin box that plays some music every time you insert a coin.
 ATARI

At about 5 pm, we would repack the toys and hide them back in the cupboard. Without fail, we would then be reading our 'textbooks' when she arrives home from work. I mean, come on, textbooks? She fell for it, so...
It also didn't help when I visited a friend's home during the impressionable age of 7 years old. Her name was Alexandra and her American dad worked for the TNB or something. So, they lived in a huge colonial house and she had a freaking playroom. I remember telling myself that I wasn't going home. She had a toy sewing machine for Christ's sake! When I eventually went home, I declared that my children will have a playroom. So, now you know."

The beloved Ice Cream Shop
Image from Google. Now we all want this for Christmas

So, if you are thinking, stupid, materialistic woman is going to create
little toy hoggers..sorry to disappoint you but
nah-ah, my kids, esp Tiger do not share my obsession.
They both walk in and out toy stores without meltdowns.
I know I am going to jinx myself for saying this but I'll take my chances.
In fact, I don't think I would mind..hihi.

Here's Tiger with his NEW toy
It starts with the beginner stage

He told me, "So easy one"
I rolled my eyes and said, "Wait and see first"

Muahahaha, challenging leh?

I took so many pics of his little hands at work

Not so easy, buddy.
See how the rods are self correcting?
Love the independent work.

Whenever I quote Tiger, you will notice that he speaks in
a Manglish manner.

Where is my one?
What is this ah?

That is how I speak to him.
I do it on purpose.
We are not some royal or aristrocrat.
We are simple people.
We are Malaysians.
Speaking in our rojak manner, with three languages in one sentence
makes us unique. I think it is endearing.

Selamat Hari Natal!
 Merry Christmas!

圣诞节快乐!

Mini Christmas Trees

We just finished putting more baubles on the tree when inspiration striked.
Since I am not about to spend time and money on felting, let's just upcycle, shall we?

Grabbed some wooden trees from Tiger's train set.
Don't they already scream Christmas?

Hmmmm, some baubles, deco?
Ah-hah, I have some shiny bling bling in the sticker stash!
They cost rm2.90 for a huge pack from Fun n Cheer.

Don't they look great?
I should write a book, called,
Crafting for the Lazy

I thought of creating a Christmas Wonderland bin
but right now, the knick-knacks are just lying on the floor :p
I blame hubs since he wanted to watch The Hobbits last night.
  Have a great weekend!
We have a surprise giveaway next week, so stay tuned :)

Tot School: Pre-Christmas Week

We did some crafty stuff because I pinned some ideas
and I didn't want to be a pin-but-no-do person.

I printed a Santa from Google image and he went to work
with glue, Styrofoam peanuts and cotton.

A simple wreath with Styrofoam peanuts.
Since he was so in love with gluing, I ditched the initial plan of glitter and shapes.

Or it could be a mask...

One of his favourite activity involves chalk and blackboard:
"Mama write"

 See?
Demonstrating H is for Happy

Still in the alphabet-craze phase.
All it took was a RM 1 alphabet sticker to get him to sit still for 20 minutes.
Yay!

He seemed interested in time and clock, so I introduced the concept of time to him.
We used a Hickory Dickory Dock puzzle + book from the Big Bad Wolf Sale
and a cheap clock model that he can manipulate easily.
LOVED it!

He was seen playing with this for the rest of the week.

Currently, his other obsessions include:

Video-taking himself on my new phone (Yay!) and laughing at himself.

Bullying Lil Dragon

Screaming for no reason

Sensory Bin: Christmas fun

Here is our Christmas bin for 2012
I wrapped a Christmas-y ribbon around it for a more festive feel
since we don't have a large green or red bin.
Content:
Base: White styrofoam peanuts (from last year)
Christmas ornaments: gifts, bell, baubles, ribbons
Wooden "Christmas" trees from his train set
A snowmen snap-on wrist thingy that lights up
A small sock
A large sock (to play guessing games)
A red and a green containers
Red tongs
Scoop
If you have never tried a sensory bin, here are some fun ideas from 1+1+1 =1

You will LOVE it!

Celebration: Christmas Tree

On Monday night,
Tiger and I excitedly dug out the RM 12.90 Christmas tree from the storage.
When I removed it from the bag and held it upright, the tree 'patah'!!!
Exactly mid-tree, the trunk had snapped into two.
I just stared at Tiger, speechless.

Finally, he said, "Mama, tree fall down, die ah?"

Not to be beaten by a broken tree, I duct taped the menacing thing.
Here it is, a little crooked, shorter but more character, I think :)
Ok-lar I am too cheap to buy another one..haha. I love you, tree!

I requested, "Smile for the camera please?"
Tiger said, "NO!"
"Hmm, smile for the tree?"

There you go!

A kiss for the Star..muaks...
which nearly broke the tree again.
Hmm, think I should make a FRAGILE card?

Ho! Ho! Ho!
